1. Polish with intention
Each order includes a specially treated microfibre polishing cloth infused with an anti-tarnish agent. After each wear, gently wipe your pieces to remove natural oils transferred from your skin — a simple ritual that keeps your jewellery looking its best.
Buff softly until any marks or imperfections disappear. Avoid using the cloth directly on delicate or hard gemstones, and pearls.
Wash your hands after use and keep the cloth away from children. Do not launder the cloth — washing removes its protective treatment.
2. Always return your jewellery to its pouch.
Your Nicole Fendel pieces come in a biodegradable zip lock pouch for a reason. Inside, you'll find a small black tab treated with anti-tarnishing agents — quietly working to shield your jewellery from discolouration and daily exposure.
When you're not wearing your jewellery, place it back in its pouch with the strip included. It's a small habit that makes a lasting difference.
3. Dress first, then adorn.
Apply perfumes, creams, and hair products before putting on your jewellery. Chemicals in cosmetics can affect metals and are especially harsh on pearls. Let everything settle before you layer on your pieces.
4. Remove before water and movement.
Take off your jewellery before exercising, showering, or swimming. Chlorine, saltwater, and sweat can all accelerate wear — even on quality pieces.
5. Keep away from harsh chemicals.
Hand sanitiser, cleaning products, and other harsh chemicals are not kind to fine jewellery. Remove your pieces before exposure, and store them safely until you're ready to wear them again.
